The 21st ARRC Symposium

Saturday 23 March 2019
De Vere Venues Holborn Bars
138-142 Holborn
London EC1N 2NQ

We are delighted to invite you to attend 2018’s acupuncture research symposium. This will be the 20th, so celebrations are due, with a magnificent line-up and a host of networking opportunities.

We have two speakers from the US, one from the East and one from the West. Robert Davis has led Vermont’s acupuncturists in pushing for the therapy to be part of the state’s insurance cover: a new research project intertwined with politics and grass-roots activism. Lee Hullender Rubin, Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, will present on both of her main research interests: acupuncture and whole systems TCM with IVF, and acupuncture augmentation of lidocaine therapy for vulvodynia. From the Hannover medical school we have Florian Beissner, who with his colleagues has been studying acupuncture together with psychotherapy for endometriosis pain and trauma: clinical effectiveness plus mechanisms illuminated by brain imaging – and they’ve measured deqi sensations too. The UK speakers will particularly be drawn from those who have recently completed BAcC funded projects, with topics including moxibustion for chemotherapy-induced low blood counts, warm needle acupuncture for knee osteoarthritis and acupuncture for veterans with PTSD

The venue, close by Chancery Lane in central London, is the same as last year. Great location, interesting building, a space that works for everyone, a hot sit-down lunch and a drinks reception afterwards.

Again this time the poster presenters will also be offered a quick-fire presentation slot: please get in touch if you’re thinking of bringing a poster.

We look forward to seeing you in March.
